did you know the fashion industry is the second most polluting industry IN THE WORLD?
LET'S STOP THE MADNESS.
we know eco fashion is the way of the future, but what are the big problems that we are trying to fix? and how do we solve them? what are the ways we can make a change? and how can we take action?
i am all about taking action.
we know the fashion industry is wasteful! so, let's start doing things differently, and with fashion revolution week starting today, what better time than now?
"we believe that fashion can be made in a safe, clean and beautiful way."
as part of our own effort to do so, volunteers came to manufacture new york yesterday and helped the ZWD team sort through hundreds of pounds of scrap materials. we made a serious dent in the mountain of scraps we have saved from landfill and over the next few weeks, we will be stitching it together to fill your orders for hot street wear.
each of us alone has all the tools we need to make meaningful change right now.
YOUR MIND: if you have to throw away a wrapper or a box or a bin, you're making waste. think first before you buy. say no to a single use plastic bags, and over packaged products. see if you can come up with your own ideas for how to make change! bring a mason jar or a metal fork with you! think "down with disposable" and see your small actions add up to big change.
YOUR HANDS: put things in the recycling bin! remember, change is cumulative. or better yet, get out and do something about problems! volunteer! make something out of nothing! GET SCRAPPY!
YOUR WALLET: if you can't start the change, support companies you want to see succeed and the ones who are doing things right. cut the bad guy's cash supply off! don't buy over packaged, toxic products or fast fashion.
a huge thank you to everyone who came out to MNY yesterday! we did it!!! together we can make REVOLUTION happen!
