Trashy Thursdays!
Hey everyone!
We’re super excited to share that our very first Trashy Thursday was a total success! Despite the rain, a group of amazing people came together to mingle, clean up our neighborhood, and check out the local businesses that partnered with us by offering special deals to Trashy Thursday participants! The Cleanup Crew
We kicked things off by gathering at the Zero Waste Daniel Store at 6pm and took time to get to know each other before hitting the streets. Once everyone had a chance to get gloves and a trash bag, we paired up and began picking up whatever didn’t belong. From stray bottles to snack wrappers, nothing was safe from Trashy Thursday. In just an hour, we had five trash bags full! While picking up trash was surprisingly fun, the best part was definitely the connections we made with the amazing people who showed up for our community. I definitely ended Trashy Thursday with more friends than I started with!

Trashy Thursday would not be what it is without our amazing community partners. After all that hard work, which wrapped up after about an hour, our partners had special offers that were only available to our Trashy Thursday group as a reward from 7-8pm! People took their punchcard that we provided and stamped and headed over to some of our favorite local hangouts to relax and enjoy some well-deserved rewards, which included:

Ooh Baby by Anika, a streetwear clothing brand, offers a 20% discount!
Beacons Closet, a curated thrift store, offers a $20 gift card if you attend 10 Trashy Thursdays!
Zero Waste Daniel offers 20% off of in-store items, and if you attend 10 Trashy Thursdays you get a free exclusive zwd t-shirt!
It Takes a Village
Trashy Thursday wouldn’t have been such a success without the incredible people who showed up—whether you were out there picking up trash with us or welcoming us into your business afterward, you all made it happen. It’s events like this that remind us how much we can accomplish when we work together.
We’re pumped about how well this first Trashy Thursday went, and we’re already looking forward to many more Trashy Thursdays to come. Our goal is to not only keep our streets looking great but also to keep building a stronger, more connected community.
